Common questions

How much should I raise my Stayz prices?
About 8% if you are GST-registered with a valid GST ID in your owner dashboard. You kept 95% of each booking at 5% and keep 88% at 12%, so the rise that holds your payout steady is 95% ÷ 88% − 1. Apply it to cleaning and pet fees as well as the nightly rate, because the commission is charged on all of them.
Does GST change the number?
Yes. If you have not entered a valid GST ID, Stayz charges 10% GST on its commission, so the take moves from about 5.5% to about 13.2% and the stand-still rise is about 8.9%. Speak to your accountant before changing tax details on the account.
Is payment processing included in the 12%?
Yes, when Stayz takes the guest’s payment. There’s no separate processing fee on top.
What if I use a channel manager or property management software?
Your rate may not change. Australian Stayz listings connected through software were already charged 12–15%, and the flat 12% is reported not to apply to partners already paying more. Check the rate in your owner dashboard rather than using this calculator.
Can I add a markup on Stayz only?
Stayz’s published terms don’t stop you charging more on Stayz than elsewhere, as at 30 October 2026. Stayz can change its terms with 30 days’ notice, so read any update it emails you.
Does StayHive take a commission on a direct booking?
No. StayHive is $39, $69 or $99 a month. Stripe’s rate for a domestic Australian card is about 1.65% + $0.30 per charge. International cards cost more (about 3.5% + $0.30, plus 2% if Stripe converts the currency).
