Common questions
- How is the stand-still rate rise calculated?
- Under the old split fee you kept about 97% of the subtotal. At a 15.5% host-only fee you keep 84.5%. The rise that holds payout steady is 97% ÷ 84.5% − 1, which is about 14.8%.
- Does GST change the number?
- Sometimes. If GST is added on Airbnb’s fee on your invoice, the take can look closer to 17.05% and the stand-still rise is higher (about 16.9%). That is a caveat, not the default. Check your own invoice.
- Does this apply to Stayz?
- No. Stayz is a different model. On a typical owner dashboard the combined commission and processing is often around 8%. PMS-connected Stayz listings are often charged more.
- Does StayHive take a commission on a direct booking?
- No. StayHive is $39, $69 or $99 a month. Stripe’s Australian card rate is about 1.7% + $0.30 per charge.
